Cosmetics are generally not toxic, but are not intended to be eaten.
Children should be taught not to put lipstick, rouge, and other
cosmetics in their mouth as this is just ‘good practice’, and it may
keep them from ingesting more toxic items at some point.
Loose powder can easily be inhaled when spilled.
In large amounts this can be a problem and cause
breathing problems.
Keep loose powder out of children’s reach.
NEVER keep medicine on or in the bedside table or dresser.
Medicines need to be kept out of sight and in a locked area.
ALWAYS store medicines in their original containers and ask for safety tops
on all prescription medicines.
Nail polish is generally not toxic, but it sure can
cause a mess if spilled.
Keep nail polish and nail removers out of young
children’s reach.
Perfumes contain alcohol and it
only takes a small amount to be
toxic to a child when ingested.
Perfume also is irritating when
sprayed in eyes.
