Poison Prevention

Poison Prevention is the Key! Some poison exposures are intentional, but most are accidental. Many poison exposures can be prevented.

The Alabama Poison Center urges you to be aware of when you and your family are at greatest risk for a poison exposure, and what you can do to prevent such an occurrence. Be aware! Take an active role in Poison Prevention.

Poisonings can occur at times when you least expect them.

  • When there is an illness in your family
  • When you are cooking a meal
  • When you are on the phone
  • When you are in the car
  • When you are in the shower
  • When your family is moving

  • When you are on vacation
  • When your child is tired or hungry
  • When you are on a trip
  • When you are visiting grandparents
  • When your usual routine is disrupted
  • When there is family tension

The Alabama Poison Center appreciates the opportunity
to serve you and your community. Help us make YOUR community a safer place to live.
