Products that we see and use everyday can be
poisonous if used in the wrong way, by the wrong
person, or in the wrong amount.
This includes household products used in cleaning and
gardening, chemicals at work, prescribed medications and
over-the-counter medicines and even herbal medicines.
Bites and stings also can be poisonous to the body and
should be treated appropriately.
Poisons can enter the body through the skin, eyes and
ears, by inhaling products or by swallowing them. Taking
the appropriate action when this happens is essential in
preventing further complications.
Sometimes symptoms can begin right away, but sometimes
symptoms can be delayed.
Don’t wait for symptoms to develop as this might delay
proper treatment.
