The American Board of Applied Toxicology


The American Board of Applied Toxicology (ABAT) was established by the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology (AACT) to provide special recognititon to clinical toxicology practitioners (other than physicians and veterinarians) who have demonstrated exceptional knowledge, expereince, and competence. Candidates for membership must be active members of the AACT who meet credentialing criteria established by the ABAT Certification Committee and must take an indepth ABAT Certification Examination.  Candidates who pass the examiniation are awarded the status of Diplomate of the American Board of Applied Toxicology and must demonstrate continued competence for licensure renewal every 5 years.
